Stephen Sidebottom has been Chair of the Institute of Risk Management since 2021. He was previously Chair of Kent Savers, a community bank, and was Master of the Company of HR Professionals, a City of London Livery Company, from 2023-2024.
In his executive career he was most recently Chief Operating Officer of the Global Energy Alliance for People and Planet, Global Head of Business HR for Standard Chartered Bank, and Head of HR for Nomura International.
Stephen has lived and worked in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) and has an MBA from London Business School and MA in Modern History and Economics from Oxford University.
