Mr. Hatem El-Safty, CIA, CISA, PMP an Egyptian/British currently the Chief Audit Executive (CAE) at Nakilat, a publicly listed company operating one of World’s largest Liquified Natural Gas LNG fleet, in the state of Qatar. Hatem is subject matter expert in number of fields including corporate governance, assurance, risk management/consulting, IT assurance/consulting, with more than 23 years’ international experience, starting in professional services (E&Y and PwC) followed by more than 8 years in Oil and Gas industry working for BP, London, UK, and Qatar gas in Doha, Qatar.
Hatem established and led the first Doha Chief Audit Executives Forum, having more than 30 Chiefs from top organisations gathering in one place to discuss the latest Internal Audit regional and global challenges. Hatem is the x-chairman of Institute of Risk Management Chapter and current committee member, leading the community of risk management professionals running regular seminars, workshops, risk awareness across different industries as well as leading governance risk related research. He obtained Executive MBA as well as master’s in business & IT from Middlesex University and got accepted to have Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Durham university. Hatem also is regular speaker at different seminars and conferences, as well as an instructor at Qatar University and is leading risk management research.
Hatem is an enthused active sportsman, he was the captain of the Egyptian National diving team (2000-2003) and currently the president of TriClub Doha (the largest triathlon club in Qatar with more than 500 active members), he is the elected-President for the second consecutive term, setting club’s direction, strategy, and leading it to sustain its exponential growth.
